Father John Olliver was born in Worthing in 1943. After primary school he went to Junior Seminary as he had decided at an early age that he was called to be a missionary. He then went to study Philosophy in Holland, and Theology at St Joseph's college, Mill Hill. In 1968 he went to Kenya for the first time and worked in parishes there until 1973. He had a break while he was involved in vocations promotion in the North of England and returned to Kenya in 1981 where he remained until 1993. He was appointed to Mill Hill as Financial Secretary in 1993, a post he continued until 2004 Father John has now been entrusted by the Bishop the pastoral care of the St Ambrose, Warlingham community in addition to that of All Saints, Oxted and is also the Dean of the Redhill Deanery and a Governor of St Bede’s School in Redhill.
